Misc interest: Crossing of Petit Bouschet (Itself a cross of Teinturier du cher & Aramon Noir) and Grenache by Henri Bouschet in Herault.
It was used to cross many other red fleshed varieties but the only known variety still in use is ‘Odessky Cherny’
Viticulture: Grape loves heat, Teinturier (anthocyanin pigments accumulating within the grape pulp resulting in red flesh). Early budding & ripening – high yielding. resistant to downy mildew.
