History: – Origin of name unknown, but likely to be related to the old name for Gouais Blanc – Got in the Burgundy region. This was one of the DNA linked parents of Aligote along with Pinot. (Other off springs of the pairing are Chardonnay, Gamay & Melon)
Flavours: – Very fresh, buttermilk flavour.
Misc interest: – In Meursault Aligote was allowed to be part of Corton-Charlemagne in a 1930 law
